BYD introduces compact ATTO 2 SUV in Europe

  • Latest all-electric model is ready for urban adventures
  • Revolutionary Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body construction
  • Compact SUV mixes versatility with intelligent technologies
  • Public debut at Brussels Motor Show, with sales starting in Q2 2025

BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new-energy vehicles, has introduced the ATTO 2, its most accessible electric SUV, at the prestigious Brussels Motor Show, Europe’s first major automotive event of 2025. Designed for customers who want the raised ride height of an SUV but in an affordable package tailored to urban streets and parking arrangements, the ATTO 2 combines advanced technology, premium features, and compact dimensions. Sales are set to commence in Q2 2025.

Blending compact dimensions and agile manoeuvrability, and featuring BYD’s iconic Blade Battery with state-of-the-art Cell-to-Body construction, cutting-edge smart technology in the cabin and generous levels of standard equipment, the ATTO 2 is the perfect urban EV for those who don’t want to compromise on a premium finish and ‘big-car’ features

The ATTO 2 balances robust SUV styling with practicality, measuring 4,310mm in length and 1,830mm in width, making it slightly smaller than its sibling, the ATTO 3. Its dynamic design features full-LED headlights, a floating roofline, and bold curves, while its interior blends geometric styling with premium materials. A panoramic glass roof enhances the cabin’s light-filled atmosphere, and BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 creates a flat floor for generous passenger space. The boot offers 400 litres of capacity, expandable to 1,340 litres, catering to both urban and family needs.

At its core is BYD’s innovative Blade Battery, seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s structure through Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction. This unique design enhances body rigidity and safety while maximising interior space. The Blade Battery uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, which is free of cobalt and nickel, offering superior durability, safety, and resistance to extreme temperatures. The standard-range model features a 45.1 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of 312 kilometres and powered by a 130 kW motor, with a longer-range variant to follow.

Inside, the ATTO 2 combines functionality and style, with padded surfaces, clever storage solutions, and a sleek centre console equipped with intuitive controls. The thoughtful design ensures a modern and comfortable driving experience, making it an ideal choice for urban drivers seeking the versatility of an SUV in a more compact, premium package.

Full specifications on this model, along with details on the ATTO 2’s extensive standard-equipment lists and range structure, will be announced in the coming weeks, to coincide with the full European launch of the car. The ATTO 2 will be available for viewing and test drives at GasanZammit Ltd in Mriehel, offering Maltese enthusiasts and customers a sustainable and city-friendly electric vehicle that doesn’t compromise on features or style.
